I just can't help but give these guys a good free
link because what they are doing is so important. I'm talking about the
people at Solar Panels Plus, who sell and install
Solar Powered Air
Conditioners. Now how cool is that?

Blah, I forgot what I was going to post about (I had SOMETHING cool in mind earlier, but I’ll have to remember and post it another time). So here’s some updates on ME!!!!
THE END
As much as I’d love to do it, I won’t be able to this year due to obvious personal circumstances. Maybe next time (I guess the next one is this Fall), I can be in a more calm state and can actually make something outstanding… just won’t happen right now or in the next couple months.
Sigh, I’m so worried about the end of next month…
I can’t stand it.
Everyone loves lists…. Here’s a list of stuff I need to get done so I can put it in perspective
In good news, I got a needed day off today. It was snowing, and the roads are terrible! Also, the bridge that gets me to work quickly was shut down. So screw that.
I’m almost to my breaking point… I was hoping to be able to just chill out on Sunday, but my parents had different plans apparently. When they get home this morning, my dad’s car radiator craps out (I don’t even know what that means or what he’ll have to do), and then they start fighting and I can hear EVERYTHING. I have to get out for a little while, but I just wanted to relax at home. There goes my weekend! And I don’t know what we’re going to do with just the one car. My dad, my mom, and I both work… as if we didn’t have enough to worry about.
In other trivial news, the guy replied about my Genesis CD set, and I can return it for a refund. I AM still listening to it, some of the tracks from Wind and Wuthering, and the synths make me want to strange Tony Banks with a piano wire. Bleh, ah well. It’s almost 9:00 and I have to work in the morning. Oy, how to spend the rest of the night… I wish it was with somebody… but this time, it’s all by myself once again.
Well, I ordered the CD set Genesis: The Platinum Collection and it finally arrived today! It looked in near-perfect condition. The box was clean, no scratches, looked never opened. The CD case had no scratches, the booklet had no folds, the CDs themselves had no scratches. It looked BRAND NEW! and every song plays perfectly (well, the ones I had played so far) except one! From Disc 3, “The Knife”, which happens to be my FAVORITE SONG, skips horribly about 60% through the song. Well, needless to say, I sent an angry email to the seller. Unfortunately, it’s an amazon.com seller, and I’m not sure what rights I have, and it might be more expensive and more of a hassle to return it.
I’m MAD MAD MAD MAD and UPSET! Ugh, I just wanted to enjoy my music, especially with worrying things going on. I guess I’ll have to listen to the other songs in the meantime.
I was reading an interesting news story about the online advertisment community Craigslist and housing discrimination. It really hit home with me because I had a similar experience where I had emailed a female advertising a room, and she never replied (which I hate, but no biggie), but I check the ad a few days later to find that “Females Only” was added to it.
As far as removal of the ads goes, it should be the same system they use now. If a post is flagged enough, it gets removed. No need to bring law enforcement or anything into it.
Given my personal problems, I sometimes like to work on something that challenges my mind to get it off of my worries. One thing I’m trying to write (currently I’m only doing the design, which I will post her when I’m done) is a PHP application for music reviews. Basically, it’s a posting interface similar to a blog, but anyone can register and submit a review for an album they just bought, and it gets submitted to me for approval. That’s the basic premise of it for now, I’m always open to ideas though.
I bought a couple of CDs by Peter Gabriel, finally. After listening to the guy’s music for so long I finally decided to shell out some dough (not much, since these are old) for used copies of his releases So and Us. As an aside, I’m a little angry because they were advertising the remastered versions, but I recieved the original ones instead (So is a CD from 1986! I didn’t know they marketed CDs that far back)
The new description of this weblog “We Do What We’re Told” actually comes from a Gabriel song off So (One of my favorites, and a very underrated one) called “We Do What We’re Told (milgram’s 37)” A reference to the Milgram experiment in 1967.
will be finished soon
Just a few things I’d like to mention that are going on with me:
I was bringing in the groceries, and I stepped out onto the porch to bring them in, and the damn steps (we have a portable three-step thing) slipped out from under me. and I came crashing down on my back with groceries all around me! I’m ok… Just some scrapes and bruises.
Something just happened that was total bullshit. I’m not really going to talk about it. I’m just so tired of heartless people that don’t give a damn.
I think I’m about sick of life. It’s just one downer after another. Enough already…
The wretched desert takes it’s form,
The jackal proud and tight,
In search of you I feel my way,
Through slowest heaving night
Whatever fear invents,
I swear it make no sense
I reach out through the border fence
Come down, come talk to me
In the swirling curling storm of desire
Unuttered words hold fast
With reptile tongue, the lightning lashes
Towers built to last
Darkness creeps in like a thief
And offers no relief
Why are you shaking like a leaf?
Come on, come talk to me
Ah please talk to me
Won’t you please talk to me
We can unlock this misery
Come on, come talk to me
I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can’t you show me how you feel now
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me
The earthly power sucks shadowed milk
From sleepy tears undone
From nippled skin as smooth as silk,
The bugles blown as one
You lie there with your eyes half closed
Like there’s no one there at all
There’s a tension pulling on your face
Come on, come talk to me
Won’t you please talk to me
If you’d just talk to me
Unblock this misery
If you’d only talk to me
Don’t you ever change your mind
Now your future’s so defined
And you act so deaf so blind
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me
I can imagine the moment
Breaking out through the silence
All the things that we both might say
And the heart it will not be denied
‘Til we’re both on the same damn side
All the barriers blown away
I said please talk to me
Won’t you please come talk to me
Just like it used to be
Come on, come talk to me
I did not come to steal
This all is so unreal
Can you show me how you feel now
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me
I said please talk to me
If you’d just talk to me
Unblock this misery
If you’d only talk to me
Don’t you ever change your mind
Now your future’s so defined
And you act so deaf so blind
Come on, come talk to me
Come talk to me, come talk to me
“Come Talk To Me” by Peter Gabriel (from Us, 1992)
21 now. Not feeling very into it.
Maybe I’ll go cry myself to sleep now…
