Finally! I know all zero of you have been waiting for me to post this!

Well, I wanted to rant about people dismissing certain actors and roles due to their personal / political views conflicting. One particular example as of late has been new James Bond actor Daniel Craig. Now, I know nothing about this guy. I’ve never seen his credits, I don’t know how good of an actor he is (Perhaps I should check out Layer Cake, at least, to see how good / bad he is.) He looks to fit the bill of James Bond (Yes, even with the blonde hair. Hell, Roger Moore pulled it off pretty nicely and he had brown hair). And one thing about him I doubt we’ll see is a more modern, “next-gen” style of Bond we saw with Brosnan. I assume this since the next Bond film will be Casino Royale, which is one of the first (the first? I’m not sure) Bond books written by Ian Fleming.

But one thing I’ve been hearing that really gets my goat (BAA!) is that Mr. Craig
will be a bad Bond because he dislikes guns. GASP. Oh nos. He’s in a movie where he uses guns but… he doesn’t like them! What a contradiction. That’s like Jennifer Lopez being a bad actress because she likes acting. She may like it, but she sucks at it anyway! Anyway, is Mr. Craig a pansy Bond because he hates guns? Well, I don’t think so. Roger Moore hates guns, too. He was the second best Bond in the universe (Next to Sean Connery, which is what EVERYONE says, because it’s true.). Another argument I hear is that he’s never played the handsome, leading type in previous roles like Moore, Dalton, or Brosnan had. In fact, the argument is that he looks more like a Bond villain, than Bond himself. While I can agree on some points, the arguments seem a little silly. You haven’t seen the guy PLAY Bond yet, so how do you know he can be bad? I think people tend to judge too quickly before actually seeing what something/someone can do. Of course, he may stink, and may, in fact, be the only BAD Bond there ever was (Seriously, out of all of the Bond actors, none of them outright suck!)
